Getting Started
Follow these steps to quickly restore purity to your office environment.
1. Installation & Execution
- Go to GitHub Releases to download the latest
.exeinstaller. - Run the installer. CWS relies on the .NET 8 Runtime; if it is not installed on your computer, the program will prompt you to download it.
- Once installation is complete, CWS will run automatically and appear in the bottom right corner of your desktop (or as a floating ball).
2. Core Operation Guide
Repairing File Associations
In the "File Associations" tab of the main interface:
- Click
[Set to Office]to force-restore the Microsoft Office suite associations. - Click
[Set to WPS]to switch to the WPS Office environment.
Resolving Icon Issues
If you find that icons do not update after switching:
NOTICE
Click "Clear Icon Cache" on the interface. CWS will automatically restart explorer.exe (Windows Explorer). This is normal behavior, so please do not be alarmed.
Floating Ball Shortcuts
Right-click the floating ball on your desktop to directly execute:

- [x] One-click PPT Association Repair
- [x] Wake Main Window
3. FAQ
Q: Why are administrator privileges required?
- A: Modifying system file associations and restarting Windows Explorer involves registry operations, which must be performed with administrator rights.
Q: Which file formats are supported?
- A: Currently, the tool primarily targets
PPTandPPTXfiles, where conflicts are most severe. Support forWordandExcelwill be added in future updates.
